Watercolor paintings astound me for a few reasons. Reason 1: they're so delicate and lovely. Reason 2: have you ever tried to paint with watercolor? It has a mind of it's own! That anyone can make that mischievous stuff behave is a delightful little mystery to me. When it's done well, I might even go as far as saying watercolor is my favorite medium. Case in point, these gorgeous pieces from Happy Menocal. I grabbed a few of my favorite prints to show you (an 8x10 will run you about $75 + shipping) and a couple of her handmade seals (or custom heraldry, as she calls it). This stuff is gorgeous. Real gorgeous.
