Inspiration Piece: Polka Dot Party

It's been awhile since I've featured an Inspiration Piece post..this Emily Green print seemed quite timely.  It had me all excited about silly Easter things (painting eggs, assortments of candy and the like)...brightly colored polka dots will do that to you, I suppose.  I rounded up a few other coordinating polka dotted items for good measure.  The bag especially is just too cute, don't you think?

Inspiration Piece: Gorman X Rhys Lee

Within three seconds of seeing this picture I wanted to respond in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: yelling "this is awesome!", painting all over my clothes, painting all over the walls, and sharing the photo with you.  In lieu of options B & C, I rounded up a few items that capture the textures, colors and shapes found in this pretty little work of art.  FYI: this jumpsuit goes on sale this Friday as part of artist Rhys Lee's collaboration with designer Lisa Gorman.  To check out killer photos of the line and/or hear some super fun insights into the Gorman X Rhys Lee launch, check out this post on The Design Files!

Inspiration Piece: Beautiful Agate

When it comes to valid sources of inspiration, nothing is really off limits.  In fact, our parent company has designed entire rooms around something as obscure as a cake or plate (both true examples, actually).  With that in mind, I've been setting aside fascinating pictures for the last few weeks and pulling together pieces that highlight the style, textures and colors that make them so interesting.  Accordingly, I've dubbed this new series "Inspiration Piece".  First up is this spectacular agate...the color palate is something only God Himself could (and did) come up with.  It's almost too pretty for words.  And I'm pretty psyched about the goodies I found to coordinate with it.  Pretty psyched, indeed.
